Brief: Commercials for Philadelphia’s famous “Chickie’s & Pete’s Crab House & Sports Bar
MEGCOMM Films produces television commercials for Philadelphia-based Seafood Sports Bar “Chickie’s & Pete’s”featuring local area sports talk show host Angelo Cataldi from CBS Radio’s WIP.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre International Airport (AVP)
When AVP wanted to rebrand itself as a regional airport offering a “stress-free” experience to travelers in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania, they turned to MLB Advertising of Wilkes-Barre and MEGCOMM to collaborate on production at the Avoca terminal.
Production of this spot was directed by MLB's A.J. Zambetti and MEGCOMM's Mike Gorga was director of photography. MEGCOMM's camera operator was Tom Mooney with Bob Sweeney as grip/gaffer.
The spot was shot in the beautiful AVP terminal with professional actors and AVP Executive Director Carl Beardsley, Jr. Virtually all travelers shown in the commercial are extras.
The commercial was edited at MEGCOMM's studio and editing facilities in Wilkes-Barre.
Lenahan & Dempsey Commercial
The “Oh no” guy spot was one of a series produced for Lenahan & Dempsey in collaboration with Thomas Communications of Clarks Summit. The actor plays a grouchy insurance claims adjuster who says “no” enthusiastically to all claims until he receives a call from Lenahan & Dempsey.
MEGCOMM built an office set in their studio to shoot the piece, which was produced and directed by Thomas Communication's Jim Thomas. The piece was edited in MEGCOMM's HD editing suit, one of two in their Wilkes-Barre studio.
The campaign received critical acclaim with radio stations handing out t-shirts with the actor's face emblazoned across the chest. It also finished second in a local caller poll behind a famous Budweiser Super Bowl commercial.
Creative Epsco Commercial
It is one of our favorite commercials out of many over 30 years and we were very blessed to have such a challenging opportunity presented in a local/regional market.
During the shooting of this commercial we had to deal with multiple challenges which were exciting to come up with solutions to. This included underwater and above angle shots which were uniquely difficult to make. Read our blog post here to learn more about what made this spot unique!
When the spot aired there was some negative feedback that there was a suggestion the child had flushed the family dog. We quickly addressed that by adding a barking sound effect at the end, indicating the dog was fine.
Great creative, enhanced greatly via great collaboration and great execution. Always our goal.
Valentine’s Day TV Commercial
In collaboration with Jane Media Solutions, region’s most experienced professionals recently completed a television commercial for All About Singles, a local, personalized one-on-one matchmaking service serving Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley.
The service is unique in that it is NOT an online service and matches are made by professional matchmakers who study compatibilities and introduce clients. The commercial has been airing on regional TV leading up to Valentine’s Day and was built to have longevity on to 2016 as well.
Edited by MEGCOMM’s Mike Gorga in the company’s HD editing suite in Wilkes-Barre. Jane Messinger of Jane Media Solutions was creative director and scriptwriter.
