The end of a loved one’s life can be a time of reflection and stress for family and friends. Hospice care relieves part of that stress so loved ones can spend quality time enjoying the remaining moments. At Allied Services Hospice, compassionate care and attention to the patient’s comfort are of prime importance.
Allied Services Hospice and MLB Advertising chose to partner with MEGCOMM Films to produce a commercial that would demonstrate the loving care their staff employs.
“In many ways, we brought our respect and compassion for the end of life scenario with us to, plan, cast, produce, and edit this vital spot. We worked with actors rather than the surviving loved ones because of the sensitivity of this project,” said Mike Gorga, head of the production at MEGCOMM Films. “In a future project, we will produce a very touching spot with an actual survivor who’d lost her grandfather, but for this one, we felt the best way to introduce Northeastern Pennsylvania to the hospice care available at Allied was through dramatization,” he concluded.
According to Allied, “Allied Hospice is a model of palliative care for patients diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Palliative care ensures the patient’s comfort by controlling pain and other troubling symptoms. Working closely with the family physician, hospice coordinates the involvement of nurses, personal care aides, counselors and respite care personnel, as needed. These professionals work as a team to optimize the patient’s quality of life and to ease the burden on family members. Our goal is to provide compassionate care for patients with end-stage illnesses such as cancer, cardiac disease, Alzheimer’s, vascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), A.L.S., or chronic renal failure. The hospice team includes a Medical Director (a physician), Registered Nurse/Case Manager, Medical Social Worker, Certified Nurses’ Aides, Spiritual and Bereavement Counselors, and specially-trained volunteers. Other professionals are available to meet specific needs, including physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapists; dietitians and pharmacists.”

Recently we had the pleasure of creating two corporate videos for a food industry client. The videos were created specifically for in house use to showcase the State of the Industry & State of the Company. State of the Industry reports provide a snapshot of where the industry has been and what the future holds. They recap what has been successful or unsuccessful in the past and provide an excellent tool for reevaluation and assessment looking to the future. The State of the Company is the perfect pairing to evaluate how one’s business stacked up against the trends of the industry.
As useful as they may be, sometimes these reports could feel monotonous year after year and struggle to maintain relevancy. That’s where corporate video production comes into play. Our client (more…)

Last year Megcomm Productions was pleased to host Highlights for Children State-of-the-Kid, an entertainment video interviewing kids on the most important questions in life! The Highlights for Children State of the Kid is a lighthearted approach to the public state of the union address. During this year’s State of the Kid we’ll be asking epic questions for our young stars. This year’s theme is the presidential elections. Of course only the most important topics will be covered: “What is the first thing our next president should work on when he or she takes office?”, “What color would you paint the White House?”, and “What advice would you give to our new president on his or her first day of work?” (more…)
